If you know anything about our family, you know that baking has always been a big part of our story. Pie is a really big deal at our house - especially PUMPKIN! We have certain family members (like my son) who expect to have their own pie! I wanted to share the recipe my mom used because it always came out perfect!

We want to wish you and yours the very best Thanksgiving. It's a great time to reflect on the many blessings we have. We are thankful for your friendship!

Pumpkin Pie

1 1/2 c sugar

1 t salt

2 t ground cinnamon

1 t ground ginger

1/2 t ground cloves

4 large eggs

1 can (29 oz) pumpkin (not pie filling)

2 cans evaporated milk

2 unbaked 9-inch pie shells

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Mix the first 5 ingredients in a small bowl. Beat eggs in a large bowl. Stir pumpkin and sugar-spice mixture. Gradually stir in evaporated milk.

Pour into pie shells.

Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce the temperature to 350 degrees; bake 40-50 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack for 2 hours. Serve immediately or refrigerate.
